HMS Medical Systems: Focusing in medical electronics

HMS Medical Systems was started in Chennai in the year 1994 as a dedicated medical electronics company specializing in physiotherapy equipments. The company has supplied its equipments to all major hospitals across India. It has also tried its prospects in exports by supplying to countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Middle East countries.

"We introduce a new equipment every year in order to keep in pace with the growing technology," says V Chinnasamy, Managing Director, HMS Medical Systems. Chinnasamy started the company joining hands with his friend Muthu Kumar. They had more than a decade of work experience in this field. The duo studied the existing products and reproduced them with necessary modification. Today, HMS Medical Systems has a manufacturing facility in Porur, Chennai with 20 personnel working here. They also have a separate assembling unit in Chennai.

"Quality product at affordable prices is our USP," says Chinnasamy. The company practices "no-profit policy" in after sales and post warranty service. "We charge our clients only for the spares replaced. We do not earn from service. This is just for customer satisfaction," says he. Chinnasamy attributes his success in retaining his clients to this policy.

The company offers a wide range of products in laser therapy, interferential therapy and ultra sound. It also sells products like traction table, overhead pulley and hydro culator. The company is in the process of obtaining ISO certification and plans to expand its exports after receiving the certification.

"We have established our presence in physiotherapy sector. Our aim is to retain this position and become leaders in this sector," says Chinnasamy.<
