Comprehensive write-up
I read the article 'Diagnosing Growth' by Sonal Shukla in the June edition of
Express Healthcare. In my view, it is one of the most well written and comprehensive
write-up on the diagnostic industry so far. Wish more journalists had such skill.
Best of luck.

Impressive content
I just went through the article 'Raining Funds' by Rita Dutta. I am quite impressed
with the content and the way it has been written. The parameter for selecting
investee companies was a nice checklist. It is great to see that so many private
equity players are looking into Indian healthcare for investment. The best part
is that they are not just focused into hospital chains but also into retail
pharmacy, diagnostic chains, specialty healthcare chains, research and healthcare
education. This approach will help to grow healthcare in all dimensions.

Well Researched Article
This is my first letter to Express Healthcare. The article
by Rita Dutta 'Raining Funds' which talks about PE funds was well researched,
well done and very informative.
I wish to congratulate her for the same. I would like to read a write-up on
the availability of seed capital or start up fund for hospitals. I feel such
an article would inspire the entrepreneurial zeal among the budding doctor-entrepreneurs.
Wishing you all the best. Keep up the excellent work.

Informative Editorial
This is with reference to the editorial for the month of
May-08 written by Rita Dutta on 'Meeting Manpower Shortage.' I regularly go
through her column and I find it very informative, but her suggestion for opening-up
or rather encouraging the private players for running the medical colleges in
India, may be detrimental for all of us in the long run. At present, the Medical
Council of India (MCI) does not have that much of capacity or efficiency to
regulate all the medical colleges. Therefore, MCI needs to improve themselves
in all senses, otherwise a parallel type of regulatory body needs to be evolved
to regulate the activities of private players in medical education.
But the suggestion for decision making at the Commonwealth
level is quite justified and relevant one.

Interesting Article
This is with reference to the edit opinion written by Rita Dutta on female foeticide,
titled 'Step Up Against Female Foeticide.' It is an interesting article indeed.
Looking forward to more such useful write-ups.
