Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad

The Yashoda Group of Hospitals was established in 1989 in Somajiguda and later expanded its operations by starting the Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad in 2003. Today, with 550 bed strength it is one of the Group's leading branch. The Hospital manages on an average 684 patients everyday in its OPD.

Significant Achievements in the Last One Year

The Hospital is the first one to introduce open platform computer navigation system in Andhra Pradesh and 16 channel HDX MRI system in South-Asia. "We have grown from having a single CT scan to being one of the world's few digital flat panel cath labs," says Dr G Surender Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals.

New Initiatives

The Hospital has grand expansion plans with Rs 100 crore investment in technology and medical equipment in the year 2008. Also getting started is a 100 bed Hospital within seven kilometers to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad by 2009. The Group is planning to start three Hospitals in twin cities (Hyderabad and Secunderabad) of 100 beds each. It also plans to start 50-100 bed Hospitals in all the significant two-tier towns like Karim Nagar, Warangal, Khammam and Vizag in Andhra Pradesh.

Biggest Challenges

Managing Director
Yashoda Group of Hospitals

"Recruiting the best doctors, systemising best protocols and getting good nursing and para-medical staff has been a daunting task," accepts Dr Rao. The Hospital has tried to overcome these challenges by starting nursing colleges, schools and paramedical courses.

Quantum of Investment

Rs 75-100 crore is invested on infrastructure, medical technologies and information technology every year by the Group.

Quality and Patient Friendliness

The Hospital conducts mortality and morbidity meetings and internal and external audits for controlling the quality treatment. "Our staff regularly attends hospitality courses to improve the behaviour and attitude towards patients. We also have protocols for safety and rights to the patient and attendees," avers Dr Rao.

CSR

Through charitable causes, public awareness programmes and free health camps the Hospital influence goes well beyond the confines of its walls. Hyderabad Heart Walk- a walk for healthy heart is an initiative started by the Hospital for creating awareness amongst the masses. It has also started mobile detection units for cancer and cardiac screening. It has also initiated public awareness campaigns like 'control diabetes,' 'promise ur'self to stay healthy' and 'cancer awareness.'

Long-term Vision

Affordable healthcare for all, with emphasis on 'health insurance' is the long-term vision of the Hospital. "Our objective is to provide superior healthcare services to every individual in all medical specialities," says Dr Rao.
