Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad
The Yashoda Group of Hospitals was established in 1989 in
Somajiguda and later expanded its operations by starting the Yashoda Hospital
in Secunderabad in 2003. Today, with 550 bed strength it is one of the Group's
leading branch. The Hospital manages on an average 684 patients everyday in
its OPD.
Significant Achievements in the Last One Year
The
Hospital is the first one to introduce open platform computer navigation system
in Andhra Pradesh and 16 channel HDX MRI system in South-Asia. "We have
grown from having a single CT scan to being one of the world's few digital flat
panel cath labs," says Dr G Surender Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Group
of Hospitals.
New Initiatives
The Hospital has grand expansion plans with Rs 100 crore
investment in technology and medical equipment in the year 2008. Also getting
started is a 100 bed Hospital within seven kilometers to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad
by 2009. The Group is planning to start three Hospitals in twin cities (Hyderabad
and Secunderabad) of 100 beds each. It also plans to start 50-100 bed Hospitals
in all the significant two-tier towns like Karim Nagar, Warangal, Khammam and
Vizag in Andhra Pradesh.

"Recruiting the best doctors, systemising best protocols
and getting good nursing and para-medical staff has been a daunting task,"
accepts Dr Rao. The Hospital has tried to overcome these challenges by starting
nursing colleges, schools and paramedical courses.
Quantum of Investment
Rs 75-100 crore is invested on infrastructure, medical technologies
and information technology every year by the Group.
Quality and Patient Friendliness
The Hospital conducts mortality and morbidity meetings and internal and external
audits for controlling the quality treatment. "Our staff regularly attends
hospitality courses to improve the behaviour and attitude towards patients.
We also have protocols for safety and rights to the patient and attendees,"
avers Dr Rao.
CSR
Through charitable causes, public awareness programmes and free health camps
the Hospital influence goes well beyond the confines of its walls. Hyderabad
Heart Walk- a walk for healthy heart is an initiative started by the Hospital
for creating awareness amongst the masses. It has also started mobile detection
units for cancer and cardiac screening. It has also initiated public awareness
campaigns like 'control diabetes,' 'promise ur'self to stay healthy' and 'cancer
awareness.'
Long-term Vision
Affordable healthcare for all, with emphasis on 'health insurance' is the long-term
vision of the Hospital. "Our objective is to provide superior healthcare
services to every individual in all medical specialities," says Dr Rao.
